Walking Tall with Juppy (Giveaway)

Although I’m not looking forward to chasing Baby Braddy all over the place, the idea of him walking is still exciting.  He recently took his first steps, and I cheered him on and continue to encourage his learning to walk.  The original baby walkers that our parents used are obsolete, so how can we help teach them without ending up with a sore back from bending over and holding them up?  After a lot of time spent doing just that, I discovered the Juppy.

Although it is a baby walker, it is not the big plastic contraption that usually comes to mind with the word walker.  Instead, the Juppy is a very simple idea and design: a cloth harness around the baby’s waist, with straps long enough to comfortably support and guide the toddling baby.  The Juppy is the safe alternative to traditional walkers, eliminating the fear of accidents and injuries.  It helps the baby get accustomed to walking upright, teaching balance and building confidence.  For the parents, it saves their backs from the strain of bending over to hold the baby upright.

I was very excited to receive a Juppy Walker for Baby Braddy.  Upon opening it, I was surprised at how lightweight it is.  It fits comfortably on him and zips up the back for a snug fit.  The straps are adjustable, making it easy for either Mom or Dad to comfortably use it without having to bend over.  It even comes with a little satin carrying case, which is a very nice touch.

When I put Braddy in the Juppy, he was very unsure of what he was supposed to do.  He walks fine while holding on to furniture, but the first couple of times in the Juppy, he just wanted to sit down.  I figured out that I can get him to walk in it by having him stand up by himself, only using the Juppy as support once he starts taking a step on his own.  He is starting to catch on and be more comfortable with walking in it, but he still has a tendency to want to use it like a chair.  Another one of his favorite things is to bounce in it; which I’m sure is because of the bouncer he’s used to being in.  Either way, he has a lot of fun in his Juppy!

I am very impressed with the simple and effective design, the sturdiness, and ingenuity of the Juppy Walker.  I love how safe it is and how it helps babies develop the skills needed to walk.  I’ve already noticed the huge difference this makes on my back compared to holding him up myself, and I love that I can walk with him for much longer periods of time without getting tired or sore.  It’s really nice to know that I can just stick this in my purse for on-the-go and use it anywhere.

There are very few things I would want to see differently with the Juppy.  Although the straps are definitely long enough for me, I would suggest that they make them a little bit longer, for the taller parents (like Daddy).  Even better, they could add some kind of padding or handle where you hold on, making it more comfortable to hold on to.

The Juppy Walker comes in two different styles, the original with no lining ($14.95) and the newer model that is fully lined ($29.95).  There are three different colors to choose from; pink, blue, and black, and they can be monogrammed with any name.  They have a 30 Day Money Back Guarantee, and I know from experience that their customer service is fantastic – I had a small problem with my first order, and they happily replaced it for me within a few days.

My experience with the Juppy company and product has been very positive, and I’m excited to be able to share it with you.  If you have a baby, are expecting one, or need a great baby shower gift, the Juppy Walker comes highly recommended.
